01 Sep Living on Mission
Over the past few weeks, my son has been reminding me of God’s call on his life for the summer of 2016. At our annual student minsitry conference in Dallas, Riley shared with me that he would like to serve on a VSM Team for the summer of 2016. VSM stands for Volunteer Student Missions and is a short-term team based mission opportunity for students 15 & older. There are several destinations, but Riley is hopeful to be put on a team to minister to the Gypsy people of Romania. While in Italy his sophomore year, he had the see the realities of a larger world and how God is at work across our planet. He wants to be a part of that work and sees this trip as an opportunity to experience it first hand.
God wants us all to live on mission. That greater calling gives our life purpose and direction. God may not call you to go to another country, but He definitely desires that you live for Him. The Healthy Life is marked by a greater purpose than ourselves. Too many in this world live for their own satisfaction and desires. We should strive to live for more. God wants us to live on mission for Him.
