21 Apr The Boston Marathon…
The High, Holy Grail of marathons is being run today in Boston. I have always wanted to run in Boston, but after last year’s bombing I became sure that was the direction that I want to go. Now, I understand that I could raise money and be able to run, but I would really like to qualify. However, that is no easy feat. My fastest marathon is 4 hours 35 minutes. They are looking for Sub 3 hours 15 minutes for someone between the age of 40-45. That is faster than I run most 5Ks Sound impossible? Yes. Is it impossible? No. I believe with God’s help anything is possible.
Meb Keflezighi was today’s winner. It was the first time an American had won since 1983. On his Facebook page, he quotes Philippians 4:13… I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. What great words as we face difficulties in life. I can’t do the impossible, but Christ can do the impossible through me.
While it may take me a while to reach my goal, I know that it is possible. In fact, anything is possible with Christ’s help. That is who I really need to lean on.
